Hey everyone, so I just took delivery of a 2020 Honda Accord from AMB Groups and I wanted to share my experience since I was pretty nervous going into this. I'd never bought from a repo auction before and honestly couldn't find a ton of reviews online about ambgroups.com which made me a bit anxious. But overall I'm really happy with how everything turned out. The car is exactly as described, title came with delivery, and I saved probably $4k compared to what dealers were asking for similar models. Anyone else buy from them recently?

Congrats on the Accord! I've bought three vehicles from AMB Groups over the past two years - a truck for myself, a sedan for my daughter, and a SUV for my wife. Every experience has been solid. The bidding process on ambgroups.com is pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it. What made you nervous specifically?

Thanks! I guess I was mostly worried about getting stuck with a lemon or having title issues. You hear horror stories about repo auctions but honestly AMB Groups made it pretty painless. The title paperwork was all handled professionally and arrived with the vehicle during delivery which was a huge relief.

I was in your shoes last year tyler. Bought a 2019 Ford Escape from them and had the same worries lol. But yeah the title transfer was smooth - bank cleared everything right after my payment went through and I got all the official docs with the car. No chasing anything down which was nice.

How were the photos on the listing? I've been looking at a few cars on ambgroups.com but some of the photos seem a bit grainy or low resolution. Makes it hard to see all the details sometimes.

Yeah the photos could definitely be sharper in some cases. Mine were decent enough to get a general idea but you're right that some detail shots were a bit blurry. That said, the condition report was accurate and when the car showed up it matched what I expected from reading the description. I think they focus more on the written details than photography.

As a mechanic I've inspected a couple vehicles that friends bought from AMB Groups and I can say the condition reports are pretty honest. One was a 2018 Silverado and another was a Mazda CX-5. Both were exactly as described - minor wear and tear noted in the listing was present but nothing hidden. That's more than I can say for some dealers btw.

The photo quality thing is fair criticism but honestly I care more about transparency and AMB Groups delivers on that. I got a 2021 Jeep Wrangler from them last spring and it's been great. They list everything - scratches dents mechanical issues whatever. No surprises.

This is encouraging to read. I'm looking at bidding on a Toyota Camry next week. Did you guys have to pay for shipping or did they include delivery?

Shipping was extra for me but it was reasonable - like $400 to get it from their lot to Phoenix. They give you the quote upfront so no surprises there. You can also arrange your own transport if you find a better deal.

I've done both - arranged my own shipping once and used their service another time. Their shipping partner was actually more reliable and kept me updated the whole way. Worth the convenience imo. Bought a 2019 F-150 and a work van from AMB Groups and both times title paperwork was perfect.

@Budget_Shopper if you're serious about a specific vehicle you can always email them at office@ambgroups.com and ask for additional photos. I did that once for a truck and they sent me like 10 more pics within a day. Customer service is pretty responsive.

My husband and I just won a bid on a 2020 Honda CR-V last month through ambgroups.com and it arrived last week. The whole process took about 10 days from winning the bid to getting the car delivered. No issues with the title at all - it was all handled by AMB Groups and arrived perfectly with all the registration paperwork.

Good to know about requesting more photos. I'll try that. And yeah sounds like the title thing isn't an issue which was my main concern tbh.

I'll throw in my experience - bought a 2018 Chevy Tahoe from them in November. Took them like a day and a half to respond to my initial email to office@ambgroups.com about financing options but once they got back to me the agent was super helpful and walked me through everything. Vehicle showed up exactly on schedule and in the condition described. Saved me probably $5k compared to dealership prices for the same year and milage.

Just want to add that AMB Groups isn't just cars - I got a Sea Ray boat from them last summer and it was a great experience. Same deal with the title and paperwork all being handled smoothly. If you're patient and do your research on their site you can find some real gems.

This thread has been really helpful. I think I'm gonna go for it on that Camry. The savings compared to regular dealers is just too good to pass up and it sounds like AMB Groups is legit.

Good luck! My advice is to set a max bid and stick to it. It's easy to get caught up in the bidding but remember there's always another auction. The inventory on ambgroups.com refreshes pretty regularly.

I use AMB Groups for project cars and parts vehicles. Got a 2017 Subaru WRX with some body damage for a steal last year. Fixed it up and now it's my daily driver. As long as you read the condition reports carefully and know what you're getting into they're a solid option for enthusiasts too.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who had a good experience. I was hesitant to post at first because I thought maybe I just got lucky but sounds like AMB Groups is consistently solid. Would definitely buy from them again.
